Lock up your wives/girlfriends/boyfriends even… cos, this summer house music’s hottest star returns to London for his 1st UK date of 2007. For the second year running, Turnmills is proud to present The Disco Tech of Bob Sinclar on Saturday 2nd June with clubland’s most dashing DJ. Bob Sinclar kicks off his exclusive London residency with this summer’s most hotly anticipated session and a fabulous 4 Hour Set.
Bob Sinclar really is the hottest DJ/Producer in house music right now. 2006 was an incredible year for him, which saw the debonair Frenchmen takeover the UK Charts with 3 Top 20 smashes - ‘Love Generation’, ‘World Hold On’ and ‘Rock this Party’. ‘Love Generation’ alone sold over 1 million copies worldwide which is ridiculous!! All 3 tracks were taken from Bob’s brilliant ‘Western Dream’ album and at the end of the summer he went on to scoop the Best DJ & Best International Dance Artist award at the annual World Music Awards. He’s about to cause havoc in the charts once more as his new single ‘Sound of Freedom’ featuring Gary Pine from The Wailers is released on 4th June, with the album ‘Soundz of Freedom’ (a compilation of mixes of his own tracks), hits the shops not long after.
Bob’s other major success of last year was of course The Disco Tech of Bob Sinclar – his new club concept held at Turnmills. All 4 parties were absolute roadblocks with the last two (October/December) physically selling out in advance of the nights themselves!! The formula is simple; Bob plays an extended main room set and invites a fellow Frenchman to join him at the helm for one big room house mash up! Then in T2, we look more to the underground, featuring the freshest new labels from France. Last year’s French royalty included David Guetta, Martin Solveig, DJ Gregory, DJ Yellow, Digitalism, David Duriez, David Caretta, Play Paul, Phil Weeks and Gildas & Masaya with uber-cool labels Kitsuné, International Deejay Gigolos and Brique Rouge hosting T2.
But back to the night at hand and a UK debut from Joachim Garraud in the main room. Tipped to be the next big thing from across the pond, Joachim has actually been around for a long time, but has always stayed preferred to stay out of the limelight… until now! The space-invader-loving DJ has helped shape the career of David Guetta (amongst many others) having co-produced all his tracks. The duo were nominated for a Grammy in 2006 for Best Remix of the Year and Garraud is one of the most respected DJ/Producers from France. Not so long ago too, the Joachim's two podcasts - Zemixx and Live Videos, were respectively No.1 and No.2 on the Podcast Chart of iTunes Music Store… which again goes to show his huge popularity. Make your own minds up on the night, but in Joachim Garraud, we bring you one of the most exciting new talents around. Fakt Records producer and man about town Mark Sun provides the early pace. Meanwhile, over in T2, fellow Parisian David Duriez returns to showcase the sounds of his underground label Brique Rouge with guests Mike Monday (Playtime) and Johnny Arthur dancing to an altogether different house beat.
So, with the Defected man’s latest dancefloor bombs set to storm the charts and after the roaring roadblock success of last year’s parties… it’s fair to say that Monsieur Sinclar is set to win over the hearts of clubland all over again this summer.
