Party people everywhere, throw your hands up in the air and praise the gods of dance! Hardcore Euphoria is back once again with one of the most slammin’ dj line-ups in ages . . . . And while the big boys are tearing it up in the main room, Wired will be hosting the Fridge’s second room, the Ice Box, before throwing themselves into the Fire, literally, as their new residency Fuel hosts the official HE after party.
It wasn’t too long ago though that the Wired party massive found themselves out on their arses, so to speak. Take one amazing after party, throw in a knife-wielding nutter, and bobs-your-clubbing-uncle you’re standing on the sidewalk in the cold bleary sunshine wondering what the f*** just happened!!
But try as you like, you just can’t keep a good night down. Type 1, creators of Wired, talk to HarderFaster about what went on and why they’re not going to let care in the community gone wrong scupper a damn good night!
Hi Guys how you doing?
Baz: Very well thank you, Glenn and I just got back from tearing it up in Ibiza last week.
Glenn: I’m good! Looking forward to this weekend! Been a while since the last Wired!
Viki: Wickford Mate
So the first question we need to ask is why Wired is no longer at The George IV on Sunday Mornings?
Baz: There was unfortunate incident where some one got stabbed in the George a few months back.
So their licence was changed from being allowed to be open at all hours to only allowed to be open from 11am – 4am so there for, no more after parties.
Glenn: We were absolutely gutted when we found out as it was like our little baby that we had watched grow for 2 years just finish because some idiot thought it would be good to take a knife in a club and stab someone.
Do you have any plans on getting a new venue for a Sunday morning after party?
Glenn: We did look into getting another venue but couldn’t find anything suitable because the George was the perfect place for our after party, we didn’t feel like it would work anywhere else.
Plus Barry and I are getting the chance to play other after parties now and have a new residency with Fuel @ Fire which is wicked as we couldn’t do this before.
Would you ever do a Wired at the George IV again?
Barry: As for going back to the George we are unsure at the moment because of the reputation now. But never say never. We have had so many good times there, a great place for mates to meet up whatever you all have been doing all weekend.
What are the future plans for Wired?
Viki: We will continue to do Wired in the back room of all Hardcore Euphoria events which have been a complete success. We are also going to do about 3 or 4 special Friday/Saturday night parties . . . . Watch this space!
How was Wired set and how did the whole idea come about?
Barry: We all had a talk about the beginning of April 2004.
We used to go to the packed out XLR8 occasionally at the George on a summer’s Sunday morning and thought it would be great to do our own party there.
We were aware there was no Sunday morning after parties currently running at the George so we saw the opportunity and took it. I remember at the time we were a bit clueless but we soon found our feet to make it up to what it was.
Initially we were only going to do it for the summer but we were filling the place by the end of the summer so we kept it going and by Christmas we had a completely packed dance floor with everyone wearing crimbo hats havin’ it to the hard stuff. It was the bollox.
Who else is involved with Wired?
Glenn: Lots of people, we have a huge crew of friends.
Emma and Hannah have always run the door! We have to say a massive thanks to then! And Emma, my girlfriend who’s always done the door in there absence.
Mr Ron and Chris Smith (Waffers), our residents, who always fliered Brixton with Baz, as well as all the resident djs.
So who are the resident djs for Wired.
Viki: The Type 1 boys, Mr Ron, Lucy Fur, Chris Smith, Dr Duzzit, JK, Craig Paxton, Marcopilf . . . . All on rotation and I can remember them all playing quality sets again and again, it was great. We loved it and the ravers loved it too.
What style of music gets played at a typical Wired?
Baz: When we first started Wired it was purely hard house and NRG. Over the years we changed the policy slightly so we’d start of with techno through to hard dance, psy Trance and finish it with filth! And this is the same concept that we will have this Saturday!
Why do you think Wired was so successful at the George IV?
Glenn: We always treated it as a proper party! Somewhere anyone could come to and have a bloody good crack on! No serious bollox, just have a laugh and a good time.
We always pride ourselves in having upfront music and genres showcased, as well as a mixture of established and up n coming DJ’s.
The George does have a bit of a reputation for the kind of people you would get in there. So we worked very close with the security to make sure that if there was any wankers in there they would be removed immediately and banned from future Wireds.
What are you looking forward to the most about doing Wired in the ice box again?
Viki: We’re really looking forward to getting all the wired crew back together and having a proper party in the Ice Box! Especially since the last two times we have hosted it; it has gone down a storm.
Let’s get Wired!
See you at the front!!

‘2006 is the year of Hardcore.’ That’s what the dance press are predicting, and this time, they are right on the money. Hardcore albums are topping the charts; the buzz is gaining momentum daily; and the UK is bracing itself for a summer hardcore explosion.
Last year, the team behind Extreme Euphoria spotted the increase in popularity, quickly putting on a one-off hardcore night in London, and boy was it hot! So sizzling, in fact, that Euphoria HQ decided to make it a regular event. Now, as it prepares for its third installment, it’s firmly etched as the Capital’s premier hardcore happening.
This time the ‘having it’ havoc is provided by 12 of the world’s most prolific artists. It’s the talents and vision of these guys which have been responsible for its resurgence, as they continually obliterate boundaries, making it fresher than any other extreme musical genre.
In keeping with its sister parties, Old Skool and Extreme Euphoria, Hardcore Euphoria was in need of a permanent fixture – a resident. We couldn’t look anywhere else other than to the marvel that is KEVIN ENERGY, who gladly accepted and fits into the mould perfectly.
So don’t miss out, join Darren Styles, Kevin Energy, Brisk and the rest of the A-Team on the 24th June, at The Fridge, and be part of one of the most exciting musical movements on today’s dance scene.
Wired return to Room 2, laying on a hard house alternative to the frightfully fast bpm’s of the main room. This London promotion has hit the spot at our last two parties, so once again, brace yourselves for some hell raising tunage as Type 1, Matt Smallwood, , Mr Ron, lucy fur and Chris Smith gear up to give it to you hard!
