Label: D-Traxx
Format: Digital
Genre: Hard trance

It seems the Diablo Traxx guys have put the D-Traxx label together to knock out official remixes and lets be honest they could have started with a worse track than this. Rated the number 1 Cream anthem of all time they've given Colin Frensh and in house engineer Rob O.T.T plenty to work with.

First up Frensh delivers a no nonsense hard trancer. As soon as that riff kicks in you will be taken back to years gone by without doubt. With subtle use of the vocal, over Colin delivers a solid track. I would say seeing as this is an official remix I would have liked to have seen a few more risks. To me this screams hard trance producer knocking a cheeky bootleg out, and I think he could have taken a few more risks.

However once Rob O.T.T gets on the knobs its a different story. The production sounds cleaner, crisper and the energy is through the roof. Brilliant gating on the vocal helps to add a new dimension to the remix. But its the breakdown that takes it to a new level with a slowed, laid back breakbeat, lush strings and a piano riff to die for. Some mightly clever snare fills build to the drop where it becomes a no frills hard trance assault. I think Rob has really made the track his own and done the original justice.

Trance purists will wrinkle their noses at this one, but us hard trance dj's do love our old classics getting a revamp. As a package I give this a 7/10, as for me, both remixes are too similar and I would have liked to have heard one of the mixes deviate from the hard trance sound a little more.
