What's funnier is the whole "Capello could be the man" because we have one good game in Croatia and destory (eventually) a poor side in Kazakstan (sp?).

Lampard had his best England game for as long as I can remember in Croatia and he's back to being very average when Gerrard returns. Look at Gerrards eyes when he plays for England. He does not have the same desire or hunger as he does with his club side. The fire just ain't in his belly.
These are obstacles that Capello must overcome but as always you're picked on what your name is and nothing else. To think we're paying untold fucking millions to someone to do that too. I'd do it for 50k a year.

Exactly.
We have potential but that's all we've had for donkey years. The setup is wrong and the mentality is wrong. So it annoys me that we pay millions to a foreigner if all his "to do" list involves getting us to QF's or SF's. Let's get a young English manager in (Stuart Pearce) and have a total revamp of the setup.

Whose saying we are world beaters on here? I think you're just seeing a bit of faith in the England side after an appaling era with McLaren. No one that I can see is crowing that we'll go on and win the World Cup.
