That's the bit I don't understand. Some of these are third generation Scots, great-grandparents were Irish, I'm more Irish than they are yet they all wave an Irish flag and claim to be Irish - its weird.

Kerb - it has nothing to do with football. These people are idiots.

It's just ingrained. For many of these people if you are a Celtic fan, you have to be a plastic paddy. If you're a Rangers fan, you need to pledge allegiance to Queen and country. The majority of them are too thick to question it and don't have a clue what it is they're supposed to hate the other side for.

I wish the clubs, the fans and the whole baggage that comes with them would just fuck off.

Being a republican from Belfast - I never understood Scottish sectarianism.

I don't think anyone does, including the people who indulge in it.

Its funny how Celtic fans make a protest this serious and couldn't even spell 'bloodstained' properly.

I think its embarrassing that these fans are probably just young men, who have no idea of the amount of Irish soldiers that suffered and died as a result of fighting along side the British Army in the first and second world wars. The poppy doesn't celebrate war, it remembers those who died as a result. My father is Irish and even he wears a poppy.

Well said Thumbs up

What's Res got to say about this?

Everyone knows what cunts Celtic are.

My concern at the moment is all these fucking woofters wearing neck warmers on football pitches. Neck fucking warmers?

God give me fucking strength.

"If the team are up for it and that crowd are up for it, they will give anybody a game down there and many players will be affected by their vociferous support. My dad told me once, nobody has an easy time there and their supporters are the fiercest in the land" - Nigel Clough

Fixed. Wouldn't want people getting the impression that one is better than the other.
