4 games that never looked anything other than being 4 wins. Last night was probably the hardest of the lot but we were comfortable winners by the end. Obviously there is still a long way to go but we are in a commanding position and we couldn't have asked for more.
I dare say the media will now expect us to win the world cup but they only talk shit to sell papers. I now fully expect us to qualify and if fortune favours us get through to the later stages. I can only speak for myself, but Capello has turned around my opinion of what is possible with this current crop of players. We seem to be playing to our strengths which is more than we have done under a lot of our previous managers.

Away to Croatia never looked anything other than a win?

With only the Ukraine and Kazakhstan(sp) to play away now we're in good shape as long as we don't buckle under any pressure (which there shouldn't be) at home.
Away to the Ukraine has to be the toughest game left now.

So you think Gerrard has the very same desire for England as he does Liverpool?
I knew you'd miss the point. I said that it wasn't a factor in how well he plays for England. Perhaps one is closer to his heart but do you really think the main reason he hasn't been able to perform for England is because of the the lack of desire he has to give his best?

Yes, but the point is that they'd never lost at home and were regarded very highly.
If you believe that was a sure thing, you must rate England pretty highly.
I think he means that once the games were underway, a win for England looked like the most likely outcome, rather than it looking like 4 wins before a ball had been kicked.
